Emergency Work & Minor Work

EMERGENCY WORK  

Work that is considered an emergency, such as replacing a water heater or furnace replacement, or the repairs of storm damage, can be performed without first obtaining a Construction Permit. However, you must contact the Building Department by email or call 732-872-1224 extension 223 to speak to a Technical Assistant or leave a message. Please provide your name, address, and a contact number. A Construction Permit Application must be submitted within 72 hours.

MINOR WORK  

Work that is designated by the Regulations as minor in nature is considered Minor Work. This type of work may proceed without first obtaining a construction permit. However, notice to the Building Department is required and a Construction Permit Application must be submitted within five (5) business days.
