Dangerous Heat, Flash Flooding, & Localized Severe Weather Late Week/Weekend 8.2.24

 Dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected to continue through Friday
across most of the region. The threat for heat related illnesses is higher within
the warned area due to the combination of excessive heat and high humidity.
No further heat headlines are forecasted at this time.
 There is up to a 60-80% chance for strong thunderstorms Friday afternoon and
evening. There is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) that some storms could
become severe with the greatest threat being damaging wind gusts resulting in
downed trees and power lines.
 Thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening also carry the risk of flash
flooding. There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 4) that locations along and
northwest of the I-95 corridor, including the Philadelphia metro area, could see
flash flooding, leading to road closures. Locations across the southern
Delmarva and coastal South Jersey have a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 4) for
flash flooding
 The threat of strong storms and heavy rainfall continue into Saturday and
Sunday. There is a higher confidence that Saturday will likely see the most
