CURRENT BRIEFING

 Snow across the southern Poconos and northern NJ with totals 6 12 inches.
Snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour from late this afternoon and this
evening. Some sleet may mix in for a time tonight.


 Snow mixing with or changing to rain or sleet northwest of the I 95
corridor through the I 78 corridor. Total snow and sleet accumulations 2 6
inches with lesser amounts below 500 feet . A period of snowfall rates near
1 inch per hour possible in Berks County and the Lehigh Valley later
this afternoon and early this evening.


 Rain along and southeast of the I 95 corridor with totals of 0.75 1.25 inches.
Some low lying and poor drainage flooding possible. The precipitation may
begin or end as wet snow along the immediate I 95 urban corridor with little to
no snow accumulation.


 Marine: Hazardous conditions tonight due to Gale force wind gusts and seas
6 10 feet.


 Minor coastal flooding with the tonight/Sunday morning high tide along the
backbays of Barnegat Bay. Spotty minor tidal flooding possible along the
remainder of Atlantic coastal New Jersey.
