CURRENT BRIEFING:  April 18, 2022 – 1:30 PM

A late season coastal storm will impact the region this afternoon
through Tuesday morning

✔ Accumulating wet snow is expected in the southern Poconos. Storm
total snowfall of 3-5” is expected with locally higher amounts possible
in the highest elevations

✔ Widespread minor coastal flooding is expected across the Atlantic
coast, Delaware Bay, and tidal Delaware River. Moderate coastal
flooding is expected in Sussex (DE), Kent (DE), and Cape May
Counties. Spotty moderate coastal flooding is possible in Ocean,
Monmouth, and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey

✔ Easterly winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected along
the Atlantic and Delaware Bay coasts of Delaware and New Jersey

✔ Gale force winds are expected across all Atlantic coastal waters and
Delaware Bay

✔ Widespread rainfall amounts of 1-1.5” are expected, but any freshwater
flooding concerns are expected to remain isolated
