Severe thunderstorms and local flash flooding remain possible this afternoon and evening. The severity and coverage of storms will depend on the extent of cloud cover throughout the day.
Hazardous Weather: Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding. Tornado risk is currently very low.
Locations affected: Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and northeastern Maryland.
Timing: This afternoon and evening (approximately 3-10 PM).
Impacts: Damaging wind gusts to 60-70 mph and large hail are possible. Excessive rainfall rates could result in localized flash flooding, especially in urban areas. The thunderstorms will be capable of producing frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
Confidence on occurrence: High confidence that thunderstorms will occur, but lower confidence on the specific timing and on how organized the storms will become.
